Texas Hold 'Em -
Learn the Rules to Help You Win
The rules of Texas Hold 'Em aren't complicated. Everyone at the table to is dealt two cards face-down. These are called your hole cards. It will be your option once the betting begins whether you want to pay to see the flop or fold your cards. Playing higher cards is always recommended. High pocket pairs are great to play, but they are beatable. High suited connectors are also favorites to play. That does not mean that the only hands people play are the ones that people consider to be good. People play all sorts of hands - and favorite hands are often hands that no one expects others to play, but they play them because they win on them. Any hand you are dealt in poker, whether it technically has an awesome percentage to win pre-flop or not, can be a losing hand. Likewise, hands with horrible percentages to win can also come out on top. Play Texas Holdem For Money
It is sometimes a good idea to play draws and sometimes it will backfire for you. One of the things to take notice of is are the cards you are holding and the cards on the table going to give you a flush that is high or one that is low? Will they give you the higher straight or a lower one? Most likely, if someone is staying in the pot with you and you are on a draw, they have all ready made their hand or they're on a draw just like you. Many players like to try and call out the other player's hands. Don't give them any reason to believe they are right. Keep your head about you. Intuition plays a part in Texas Hold 'Em. Some people talk to try and psych you out while others are begging for callers because they have the nuts, or the best hand possible. Sometimes it is difficult to fold, but there's nothing wrong with laying down the lesser of two hands because you believe yourself to be beat. Here are some Texas Holdem Basic Strategy
You do not have to show your cards. If you show your cards to one person at the table, though - they are fair game for the rest of the table. Everyone wants to see your cards. Everyone wants to know what kinds of cards their opponents are playing. It gives them insight into your game. Many times at the casino people will show their cards to prove that they weren't bluffing. Other times those same people will show their cards to prove that they were bluffing. They want you to believe they alter the way they play often. This is usually not true. People tend to play the same way every time they play Texas Hold 'Em. But, every once in awhile, they do throw in an occasional change - thinking they can throw their opponents off. When players do change their style of play, it is usually only for a short period of time because they believe their regular way of playing Texas Hold 'Em is the way that helps them win.
Many times when playing Texas Hold 'Em you are not playing only the cards in your hand and the ones on the table. You are playing the player. Watch the people you play with carefully and base much of your play on the way that they play. Good luck!
